Fightin’ Titans Perform at Superdome

The Fightin’ Titans performed at halftime during this year’s Class 4A State Championship football game at the Superdome on Saturday, December 9. What a remarkable experience and a great honor for these young people. We are really proud of how they represented not only Lakeshore High School but also the community at large.

Congratulations Lakeshore for making it to the state finals! Making history!

Bosco’s Spaghetti Lunch

Coming soon: In January, the Fightin’ Titan Marching Band will be selling Bosco’s Spaghetti Dinners to support the band’s upcoming trip to Washington, DC. Check back for more information. Tickets will go on sale in early January, and dinners will be available on Sunday, January 28, 2018, for pickup.

Scarf and Beanie Fundraiser

The LHS Fightin’ Titan Band is raising money for their trip to Washington, DC, to march in the National Memorial Day Parade on May 28, 2018. We are selling scarves for $20, beanies for $20, or both for $35. Please submit your orders to:

LHS Names New Band Director

Craig Byers has been named the new Lakeshore High School Band Director for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year. ┬áHe replaces Ms. Jessica Lizana who served as Lakeshore’s Band Director from 2009 to 2017.

LHS Band Director Craig Byers

Mr. Byers received his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Southeastern Louisiana University in December of 2007. While attending Southeastern, he performed as a percussionist in the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Symphony Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, and “Spirit of the Southland” Marching Band. Craig also led the marching band as drum major for two consecutive years. It was during his time student teaching that he discovered his talent in writing drill and bringing music to life. Prior to LHS, Mr. Byers served as the Assistant Director of Bands at Central Lafourche High School in Raceland, Louisiana. His duties in the CLHS band program included conducting the Concert Band, Indoor Percussion Ensemble, Marching Winds and field technician and designer for the marching band. His previous employments include Assistant Director of Bands at Fontainebleau High School and with the Tangipahoa Parish School Systems working as an elementary general music teacher. Mr. Byers has worked with several high school bands throughout Louisiana and Mississippi and has adjudicated in the visual and general effect captions at local competitions. Mr. Byers was a guest conductor of the Fontainebleau High School Jazz Ensemble One at the 2010 Midwest Clinic in Chicago. His professional affiliations include the Louisiana Music Educators Association, the National Association for Music Education, and the Percussive Arts Society. Craig currently serves as the Executive Director of the Louisiana-Mississippi Color Guard and Percussion Circuit as well as Voodoo Independent Productions, a non-profit organization that promotes the marching arts and provides performance opportunities through Voodoo Independent Winterguard. Craig Byers is also the owner and drill designer of Distinguished Drill and Designs, LLC..
